From here is Los Angeles to New Orleans, Louisiana Check out all the results that our fencers earned! We have some exciting moments to share with the Swordplay community! Our epeeist, Tim Cheung did his first scholastic league event this past weekend at Brentwood Highschool. He won 4 out of 6 of his pool bouts. He kept a good head on his shoulders the entire time despite some minor technical difficulties. He won his first DE bout with a commanding lead (15-3), and went on to fence the 15th seed. He earned 7 great touches before going home. Tim finished 22nd. All around great day! Coach Mary Spohn and veteran fencer Dana Hohn traveled to New Orleans for a regional open circuit event. Both fencers earned top 8 finishes. Mary missed a gold medal finish in Division 2 Women's Foil by six close touches while Dana finished 6th in Veteran Men's Foil. Dana is prepping for his next event, in Northern California in a couple weeks. Excited to see him keep the momentum going Both Colin Kwong and Apollo Coligan fenced at the San Diego Youth Foil Cup #1 this past weekend. Colin won two of his pool bouts and almost won another by one touch! Apollo won one of his pool bouts and scored some other great touches. Both Apollo and Colin are very early in their competitive paths. Ready for the next tournament. Big congrats to our sabre student Caleb Wong on his first tournament ever at the San Diego Sabre Cup #2. He scored some touches in pools and is already looking forward to the next event. Special thanks to our coaches for helping at these events!
